The stuff we found in those closest was like a cross-section of fashion from the 1930s to modern day, spanning all walks of life, as well. From flapper dresses to evening gowns to 3 piece suits to tuxedoes and rich white lady fur coats, it was a library of clothes that was spread across those 8, or so, closets.

Apparently, though, no visitor to “Nowhere House” had come directly from a ski trip. Which was a shame since I really could have used some snow gear right about then. That’s not really foreshadowing or anything. It was just cold and the rich white lady fur coat option I ended up going with was not exactly dignifying but it was my warmest option.

Underneath the RWLFC I wore my own clothes but kept the jumpsuit over them, just for an extra layer. On top of the jumpsuit, I wore the drawstring backpack I’d been carrying the Accessory in but I wore it with the pack part being in front so I could  easily access it.

To complete the look, I found a white scarf leather racing gloves oh and my hoodie’s hood kept my head warm, a bit.  Of course, after all that, went the glasses.  The plan from there was pretty straightforward. Go through the Fire Escape, blind the thugs with light from the Accessory, grab Wise’s hopefully-not-lifeless body, and drag him back through the Fire Escape.

So, there I was, dressed like a person who really had trouble saying no to clothes, standing in the middle of Jill’s lab with her, Jim and my friends KJ and Kate looking on. KJ was excited and jealous.

“Easy-peasy, bro! In and out!” he said. “You sure I can’t come?”

“Dude, who’s DNA got dabbled with?  You’d suffocate in seconds, man,” I explained and watched KJ’s enthusiasm shrink.

“Oh yeah, well, be careful, bro.”
